PIP stands for Personal Injury Protection. When you buy auto insurance, you are covered by PIP, this is financial coverage granted to the injured for medically necessary care due to physical injury from an auto accident.

Kentucky is a no-fault state which means that if you have auto insurance on yourself, you have coverage from injuries you receive while in your car, on your car, getting into or out of your car, regardless of who is at fault.
